Aluminerie Alouette recognized for actions in health and wellbeing

Granted honorary award from the healthy enterprises group

SEPT-ÎLES, October 27 2021 – Aluminerie Alouette is proud to announce that it was selected by The Healthy Enterprises Group for a 2021 Honorary Award, earning second place in the large manufacturing enterprise category in Quebec. This recognition speaks to the excellent practices at the Sept-Îles smelter regarding the health and wellbeing of its employees and partners.

For three decades, Aluminerie Alouette has been putting its employees—its family—at the forefront of its development. In 2014, the industry pioneer received the highest level of Healthy Enterprise certification, Elite. Receiving this honour today from a third-party leader in health and wellbeing is yet more proof of how much this company, the largest private employer in Sept-Îles, cares about its invaluable team.

Led by a committee of active employees and engaged senior managers, many initiatives are implemented regularly to improve in four areas of activity: work-life balance, management practices, work environment and lifestyle habits. Culinary activities, mental health support, flexible schedules and an exercise and leisure activity reimbursement program are just a few examples of the concrete actions taken over time.

“This recognition is for all our employees who do their part every day,” says Michel Lussier, Vice President, Human Resources and Corporate Affairs. “It’s even more remarkable to receive this award in the middle of a pandemic. Despite all adversity, we have innovated to maintain our best practices in health and wellbeing. Our door is wide open to future employees who want to join what is much more than a workplace—it’s one big close-knit family.” The company has a number of job opportunities available at www.alouette.com/careers, with more to come.
